Q: What is the difference between you and my CPA?
A: More than you think. The easiest way to explain this is to point out the basic differences between a bookkeeper (me) and CPA. The most basic explanation is that I primarily assist you with the day-to-day financial records, transactions and payroll that keep your franchise operating efficiently and smoothly. Your CPA handles your year-end reporting for taxes and may provide advice related to your taxation requirements. When tax season rolls around (and it always seems to well before you’re ready) the tasks and services related to bookkeeping that I perform throughout the year allow me to easily and readily provide you the information you pass along to your CPA in order for them to do your taxes. The bonus is that I already have collected all of the information and have done most of the preparation, making the time and cost of services provided by your CPA less. And, as an added bonus, in addition to these basic bookkeeping tasks, I am able to provide additional consulting services because I have a thorough understanding of the Snap On franchise policies and structure. Let me close by saying, that the best scenario, regardless of whether or not you choose to use my services, is to have your bookkeeper and your CPA work together for the best outcome for your franchise.
